Section Hikes in NOBO Order starting from the Mexican border
NOTE that I didn’t hike each section in the same direction!
Why not? Because I usually chose to start at the higher elevation trailhead! Laziness, pure and simple.
NOTE: I did a thru hike attempt in 2023 but ultimately failed, and only hiked the first 650 miles of the Desert Section, with quite a bit of flipping and flopping, so you’ll have to figure out the order!
I followed that up by hiking the entire 505 mile Sierra Section in 2024:

CA Section A: mile 0-111 (San Diego Mtns and Desert)
CA Section B: mile 111-215 (Riverside Mtns)
CA Section C: mile 215-347 (San Bernardino Mtns)
CA Section D: mile 342-455 (San Gabriel Mtns)
Mile 374-378: Hiked from Vincent Gap up Baden-Powell back in the late 90’s, so no Trip Report
Mile 389-394 Didn’t hike the frog closure section along Highway 2 – It’s a road walk, no thanks
CA Section E: mile 455-566 (Mojave Desert)
CA Section F: mile 567-653 (Far Southern Sierra)
CA Section G: mile 653-768 (Southern Sierra)
CA Section H: mile 768-944 (High Sierra)
CA Section I: mile 944-1018 (Northern Yosemite to Sonora Pass)
CA Section J: mile 1018-1093 (Sonora Pass to Lake Tahoe)
CA Section K: mile 1093-1158 (Lake Tahoe to Donner Pass)
Still need to hike the Northern California Section
No Oregon yet (maybe some in 2022 if it doesn’t burn), and only a two mile stretch in Washington, except for the PCT’s northernmost section:
