We went on a road trip to Michigan’s Upper Peninsula, and while there, we spent a week exploring Pictured Rocks National Lakeshore, by boat on Lake Superior and also via hiking and backpacking along the shoreline on the North Country National Scenic Trail. We arrived in late September, as Autumn was turning the leaves of the forest into a blaze of color and the weather began to change, showing us the varied power and moods of Lake Superior.
